EduLink is committed to protecting user privacy and respecting the rights of schools, parents, guardians, and students. These Data Deletion Instructions explain how users can request the deletion of personal data from the EduLink platform.
1. Who Can Request Data Deletion
Data deletion requests may be submitted by:
- A parent or legal guardian (for student data)
- A student (where permitted by school policy and law)
- A school administrator (for school-managed accounts)
- An individual user (for their own personal account)
⚠️ Note: Some data may be managed or owned by the school. In such cases, deletion may require school approval.
2. Types of Data That Can Be Deleted
Upon request, EduLink may delete:
- Personal profile information (name, contact details, profile photo)
- Login credentials and account identifiers
- Communication records (messages, notifications, logs)
- Non-mandatory uploaded documents or attachments
3. Data That May Be Retained
Certain data cannot be immediately deleted due to legal, academic, or administrative requirements, including:
- Academic records (results, report cards, attendance)
- Financial or billing records
- Disciplinary or compliance records
- Data required by education regulations or school policy
Such data will be securely retained for the legally required period and then permanently deleted.
4. How to Request Data Deletion
Option 1: Through the School
- Contact your school administration.
- Submit a written request for data deletion.
- The school will authorise and forward the request to EduLink.
Option 2: Direct Request to EduLink
Send an email with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” to:

Include the following details:
- Full name of the requester
- Relationship to the student (if applicable)
- School name
- Registered email or phone number
- Description of the data to be deleted
5. Identity Verification
To protect users:
- EduLink may request identity verification before processing deletion.
- Requests without sufficient verification may be delayed or declined.
6. Processing Time
- Data deletion requests are typically processed within 14–30 working days.
- Complex requests involving schools or legal obligations may take longer.
- Users will be notified once the request is completed or if additional information is required.
7. Effect of Data Deletion
Once data is deleted:
- The account may no longer be accessible
- Academic history or services linked to the account may be lost
- Deleted data cannot be recovered
8. Third-Party Services
If EduLink integrates with third-party services (e.g. messaging, payments, cloud storage):
- We will instruct relevant partners to delete applicable data where possible
- EduLink is not responsible for independent data retention policies of third parties
9. Children’s Data Protection
EduLink applies additional safeguards for student data:
- Student data is processed only under school or parental authority
- Parents or guardians may request review or deletion of student data at any time, subject to school policy and law
